So my first full week of running was completed on Sunday. In 5 trips I ran 26 miles in just over 5 hours. Granted this was on 5 different days so I am in no way saying I am ready to sign up for the Marathon next year, however it did feel really good.
I’m not going to watch the scale too much. Im trying to operate just on mood and feeling and right now it’s pretty good. The Jack3D is definitely helping with the endurance. I threw in some light circuit training work this past week as well.
Last night I went to one of my meetings and the suit that used to be huge is now butt tight. Got on the scale this morning and it reached numbers it had never seen before. This is a truly humbling morning. I always said I wouldn’t let myself get back to this point and well here I am.
Must make decisions today and also going to hit the gym tonight.
I forgot I started this blog many moons ago. Much has happened since then, I bought a house and we recently celebrated our 10th anniversary. I saw some pics of myself and am utterly disgusted. My face and waist are huge.
Went to the gym last night and ran/walked 4 miles. I cant remember the last time I did that. I think the focus needs to be on cardio and diet. Pretty good today, protein, chicken and green beans and salad for lunch.
lets see if I can keep it up. 190 by years end?
First off, I know no one reads this thing. Honestly, I think it’s a good thing no one does. So since April I have ballooned up to my largest weight a nice 202. I have to get going and moving.
Spent an amazing weekend in NYC and saw a lot of old friends and did a lot of walking. Not hard to figure out why I weight 170 pounds and had a 32″ waist when i lived there, well that and I was 20 years old. 10 years later and quite a bit more stress has made this weight harder to lose
So I’m more then halfway there. For my second week weigh in I am at 191, so I have lost a total of about 11 pounds. Im happy with that. My goal as stated previously is to get to 185 by the end of the28 days. What is it about a 28 day period?
So far things are going well. Things I have noticed this past week is that I really dont have much strength nor do I have a real desire to get to the gym. Played tennis last night for the first time in a long time and enjoyed it.
Looking forward to Thursaday night, Further Seems Forever, reunion show in Philly with my boy Nick. Updates to come……
Well the first week is down and done. For the most part I was able to hold out where needed. I survived the party at my house including Pizza, tacos, ice cream, brownies, cookies and oh Pineapple upside down cake – I did not partake.
When I got on the scale I was down to 195. So in one week I dropped 7 pounds, not too shabby. Am I at my goal, of course not yet but Im working on it. I am very tired and dont have the strength/endurance while at the gym but I expected that with the lack of caloric intake.
I will be happy if I can hit the 190 mark by the end of this week. My real goal by day 28 is 185. I think 17 pounds would be a good amount and provide the kick start I need to really get my head around my diet again. Some observations from this past week:
Well back to the grind for now.
Well I made it to week 1 HSM ( Healthy Solid Meal). Prob not best choice but I’m terrorizing chicken owl from Chiptole. Chicken, lettuce, peppers, Pico, black beans and a small amount of rice.
No I didn’t fall off the wagon, I’m still rolling. Though a bunch of individuals did just bring a whole bunch of non liquid dunkin donuts to my car.
Well I had a good workout at the gym last night and worked the shoulders out pretty good. There are some guys at my gym who I swear the only reason they come is for the sauna. I had the door open for like 2 seconds “Close the door!!!”. You better close that mouth talking to me that way. So I did what anyone would do, put the IPOD on and ignored him.
I found out that I am deathly allergic to Fish Oil. About half an hour after downing a tablespoon my head got hot, my stomach was in knots and I felt like there was a rubberband on my heart. So I’m guessing I will use Flax Seed Oil as an alternative. In the past few months I have been using Optimum Nutrition Cassein protein which tastes great and nice and thick. So far the Team Skip has good taste but no where near as thick.
I have so many awesome clothes waiting for me with a 34″ waist. Day 2 is almost in the books…..
